What's new

New features, improvements, and fixes on Kurdish Events, release by release.

  1. 2026.07.31

    31 July 2026

Submitters can see their event's full review history and why it was rejected, plus a streamlined hosting flow, more reliable map pins, and smarter search.

    • New

Submitters can now see the full review timeline for their event, from submission to decision, and rejection notices explain why with a clear, consistent reason instead of free text.

    • Design

Review timeline entries no longer repeat who did something in both the title and the byline below it.

    • Improved

Hosting your own event now has its own dedicated form, separate from the AI submission chat, with capacity, waiting list, and approval settings available while creating the event instead of only after it's published. Choosing between hosting and sharing an event now opens as a quick modal instead of a separate page.

    • Improved

Search, in both the admin review queue and the public navbar, now finds events even with typos or missing accents, like matching 'hozan dino' to 'Hozan Dino'.

    • Improved

The 'fill in missing venue pins' tool in Settings now lists each waiting event by name, date, and venue instead of just a count, shows every one instead of only the first 5, and reports correctly even when there are none, with when it was last checked.

    • Improved

The search palette (Ctrl+K) can now filter results to upcoming or past events, and shows more results on screen, especially on mobile.

    • Improved

The review queue's Duplicates column now shows in every tab, including Published, so a duplicate that slipped through review is no longer invisible.

    • Improved

The staff review badge in the navbar can now show counts past 9 instead of capping at '9+'.

    • Improved

Event pages no longer shift around while loading, and posters now show at their true size instead of always being cropped to a fixed shape.

    • Fixed

Fixed events not reliably getting a map pin when created, edited, or found automatically; only one of several paths used to resolve it, so some events, including ones with a corrected address, could end up with no map or the wrong one.

    • Fixed

Fixed event pages showing an error screen instead of loading for visitors whose browser can't render maps; the map area now shows a friendly message instead while the rest of the page works normally.

    • Fixed

Fixed the review queue's duplicate-events badge showing stale or incorrect counts that didn't match what the compare tool actually found.

    • Fixed

Fixed event web addresses mangling Kurdish and Turkish letters like 'ı', so they now convert correctly instead of dropping the letter.

    • Fixed

Fixed saving changes to your hosted event navigating you away from the edit page instead of keeping you there.

    • Fixed

Fixed the review queue's bulk approve, reject, and take-down buttons showing no loading feedback while running, so acting on several events at once could look frozen instead of working.

    • Fixed

Fixed the submission chat replying with a canned message instead of starting a new draft when you typed 'reset', 'new', or 'submit another' after submitting an event.

  2. 2026.07.26

    26 July 2026

RSVP for hosted events with waiting lists, plus an interactive map for every venue.

    • New

Hosted events now support RSVP: signed-in users join in one tap, guests join with just a name and email, hosts can set a capacity with an automatic waiting list or require approval, and everyone gets a confirmation email plus an add-to-calendar option.

    • New

Event pages now show an interactive map you can pan and zoom instead of a static picture, and Directions opens the actual venue instead of a random dropped pin.

    • New

Staff can now fill in missing map pins for existing events with one click from Settings.

    • Design

The admin AI settings page is now called Settings, with separate sections for AI, Images, and Maps now that it covers more than AI.

    • Design

The private preview banner shown when viewing an unpublished event is now a compact pill instead of a plain box.

    • Design

The filter toggle button now reads "Filter" instead of "Filters".

    • Improved

Typing an event address by hand now offers matching suggestions as you type, fully keyboard-accessible, so the map pin always matches what you typed.

    • Improved

Venue maps now appear as soon as an address is entered instead of only after a later repair, and addresses too vague to place precisely no longer show the wrong location.

    • Improved

Admin review and My events pages now link straight to the event's public page for a quick look.

    • Fixed

Fixed the browser Back button resetting the Upcoming/Past toggle and the admin review status tab instead of returning to the one you were on.

    • Fixed

Fixed the homepage event count only including upcoming events instead of all published events.

    • Fixed

Fixed a submitter's or staff's private preview of a pending or rejected event showing a placeholder icon instead of the actual uploaded poster.

  3. 2026.07.21

    21 July 2026

A staff Review shortcut in the navbar with a pending count, plus share preview images for links to the site.

    • New

Staff now have a Review shortcut in the navbar with a badge showing how many events are waiting for review.

    • New

Links shared to social media and messaging apps now show a preview image, title, and description instead of a blank card.

    • Design

The home page introduction now mentions RSVPing and ticketing directly.

    • Improved

Event pages now use readable web addresses (event name and city) instead of random IDs; old links still redirect automatically.

    • Improved

Events can now be tagged Education, for classes, workshops, and courses, separate from one-off lectures.

    • Improved

Search results now show an event's poster photo instead of a generic category icon when one is available.

    • Fixed

Fixed a submitter's own pending or rejected event showing no photo on My events, even after a poster was uploaded.

    • Fixed

Fixed the submit chat showing a generic prompt after choosing "Paste a link," instead of hinting to paste a link.

    • Fixed

Fixed setting an event's end time to midnight the same day as the start silently creating a backwards time range; the app now catches this and offers to move the end to the next day.

  4. 2026.07.20

    20 July 2026

A one-click way to force-refresh stale poster images after a repair, plus navbar and location-picker fixes.

    • New

Added a 'Reset image cache' button in AI settings to force browsers to show freshly repaired poster images instead of stale cached copies.

    • Design

The account avatar icon in the navbar is now the same size as the other navbar icons.

    • Improved

Staff doing bulk review work no longer share the same rate limit as anonymous visitors on the same network.

    • Fixed

Fixed the location picker dropping a place's name for parks, squares, and city districts (like Zuiderpark) that have no street number.

    • Fixed

Fixed a duplicate header appearing at the top of the page-not-found screen.

    • Fixed

Fixed the poster repair tool missing corrupted large images because it only checked the smallest thumbnail size.

  5. 2026.07.19

    19 July 2026

Events can now be fully online, and staff can repair broken poster thumbnails with one click.

    • New

Events can now be fully online: paste a meeting link or choose Online event from the location search, and browse events filtered to Online only.

    • New

Staff can repair broken poster thumbnails with one click from AI settings, with live progress as it scans the library.

    • Design

Navbar icons (search, favorites, notifications, theme toggle) are bigger for easier tapping.

    • Improved

The Submit button is no longer disabled while your draft is incomplete: tapping it now highlights exactly which fields still need attention.

    • Fixed

Fixed several rough edges in the duplicate comparison tool: selecting a listing no longer scrolls the page, the tickets link is clickable, and the mobile layout is tidier.

    • Fixed

Fixed corrupted poster thumbnails appearing in the staff review queue.

  6. 2026.07.18

    18 July 2026

Smarter poster picking from links, a redesigned duplicate-comparison tool for staff, and reliability fixes for the submission chat.

    • Improved

Poster picking from links got smarter: paste a link anywhere in the chat to grab its photo, tap through multiple options when a page offers more than one, and get the sharpest full version instead of a cropped preview.

    • Improved

Staff can trigger 'Find a better picture' on any event to re-search its link for a better poster image.

    • Improved

The admin review queue now loads more results with a Load more button instead of silently stopping at 500.

    • Improved

Staff can now compare two possible duplicate events side by side, posters included, and resolve them with one click to keep, reject, or mark as not a duplicate.

    • Improved

The review timeline now shows reviewer identity on hover and how many details the AI filled in.

    • Fixed

You can now clear an event's end date and time instead of being stuck with a value once set.

    • Fixed

Submitting an event no longer creates a duplicate entry if you click submit twice or your connection retries.

    • Fixed

Fixed the event draft card sometimes appearing twice after a mid-chat link extraction on mobile.

    • Fixed

Fixed the assistant sometimes saying it updated your draft when nothing actually changed.

  7. 2026.07.17

    17 July 2026

Links now grab their own poster image automatically, plus a faster streaming submission chat and staff review fixes.

    • New

Pasting an event link now automatically grabs the page's photo and uses it as the event poster, even on pages that block automatic reading.

    • Design

The submission chat now offers a clear "fill it in yourself" option alongside the AI suggestions, and the mobile chat header has a lighter, translucent look.

    • Design

Staff correcting an event's address during review can now search for the location with the map picker, and a quick Edit link appears on the event page for staff viewers.

    • Improved

The staff review queue is now a single To review inbox instead of two separate lists, with show or hide columns, one-click approve or reject on each row, and quick preview or edit links.

    • Improved

The event submission chat now streams its replies as they're written and remembers the full conversation, so it can ask clarifying questions instead of following a fixed script.

    • Improved

You can keep asking the assistant questions about your event after you've submitted it.

    • Fixed

Switching between Upcoming and Past events, and between staff review tabs, no longer jumps the page back to the top.

    • Fixed

On short pages the footer now sits at the bottom of the screen instead of floating partway up with empty space beneath it.

    • Fixed

Editing an event that staff had rejected now sends it back for review instead of republishing it directly.

    • Fixed

Event details can now be extracted from links behind bot-protection walls (like Cloudflare) that previously failed to load.

  8. 2026.07.16

    16 July 2026

Search for a venue to fill in an event's location, with automatic time zones and a cleaner submission form.

    • New

Add a location by searching for the venue: pick a result and the venue, address, city, and country all fill in at once, or keep what you typed as a custom address.

    • Design

The event submission form has a cleaner, more polished layout: always-visible fields, a combined start and end timeline, and simple pick-only calendar and time inputs.

    • Improved

An event's time zone is now set automatically from its location; you only choose one for online events or countries with several time zones.

    • Improved

You can now add, replace, or remove an event's poster image when submitting, and staff can do the same during review.

    • Improved

You can now enter and correct an event's end date and time when submitting, so multi-day events are easy to add.

    • Fixed

The submit button no longer looks active while doing nothing; it turns on only when the event is ready and names what is still missing, like a time zone or category.

  9. 2026.07.15

    15 July 2026

One unified navigation menu, Favorites replaces saved events, and swipe-to-dismiss for the draft card.

    • Design

The whole site now uses one navigation menu on mobile and in admin, instead of two different ones.

    • Design

The floating "Add an event" button collapses to just its icon while you scroll, expanding again at the top of the page.

    • Improved

The event draft card can now be dismissed with a downward swipe from anywhere on it, not just its handle.

    • Improved

Saved events are now called Favorites, with a heart icon, and have their own page; My events and My submissions have merged into one list on your account.

    • Fixed

Submission errors now show a clear, friendly message instead of the raw AI provider error, with details still logged for staff.

  10. 2026.07.14

    14 July 2026

Host your own event with instant publishing, plus a redesigned submission chat.

    • New

Signed-in hosts can now list their own event and have it publish instantly instead of waiting for review, manage it from a new My events tab, and staff get a Needs review lane to spot-check hosted events afterward.

    • Design

The floating "Submit an event" button is now labeled "Add an event" and a size smaller on mobile.

    • Design

The event submission chat has a refreshed look and takes over the full screen on mobile, with a back button to return to the choice screen.

    • Design

The first AI-drafted reply in the submission chat now shows a clickable preview card with a thumbnail, and the "Ready" status is easier to spot.

    • Design

The three starter suggestions in the submission chat (photo, link, description) now have distinct icons.

    • Improved

"Just describe it" in the submission chat now only focuses the text box instead of pre-filling an example.

    • Improved

The event draft preview shows more of the poster, and clicking it opens a full-size view.

    • Improved

AI settings now warn when the selected provider can't fetch links directly, and a failed link submission shows a clearer explanation.

    • Fixed

Fixed some AI models failing to extract event details when they ignored the requested output format.

  11. 2026.07.13

    13 July 2026

Self-serve AI model selection and simplified attendance tracking.

    • New

Admins can add any OpenRouter model in AI settings and check what it can read and its price before selecting it.

    • Improved

The event detail page now shows a single "Going" button instead of separate Going and Interested options, since Interested overlapped with saving an event.

    • Fixed

Event times near daylight saving transitions now resolve consistently, and submissions with impossible calendar dates are rejected with a clear error.

    • Fixed

The bookmark icon on event cards now shows for signed-out visitors too, linking to sign-in instead of disappearing.

  12. 2026.07.12

    • Improved

When a poster leaves gaps, the AI searches the web to fill in the missing event details.
