Kardeş Türküler mark 40 years of Ahmet Kaya's work and 25 years since his death with a concert built entirely from his songs. Ahmet Kaya was one of the most important Kurdish voices in Turkish popular music, and the programme reads his catalogue through the many traditions it drew on: the saz playing of the Malatya and Elazığ region, Azerbaijani music, the Abdal tradition, the Kurdish dengbêj heritage, arabesk, classical Turkish music and rock. Kardeş Türküler rework these with traditional instruments and their own arrangements, around themes of peace and shared life. Doors open at 19:00. Children under 6 are not admitted; everyone aged 6 and over needs a ticket.
