A captivating musical journey through the forgotten heart of Eastern Anatolia. Ali Doğan Gönültaş brings stories to life through his voice and tembur that were passed down through generations in whispers, laments, and dance. The concert draws from the rich traditions and turbulent history of the region, including the Armenian genocide, suppression of Kurdish culture, and Alevi faith. Gönültaş is a Kurdish tembur player, singer, and guitarist born in Kiğı, Eastern Anatolia. He studied archaeology and communications at Kocaeli University. In 2007 he began his professional music career with the band Ze Tijê and conducted oral field research, culminating in his 2022 solo album 'Kiğı'—a passionate 150-year musical odyssey featuring lamentations, love, and hope songs in Kurmancî, Kırdaskî, Armenian, Turkish, and Zazaki. The event includes wardrobe and a drink during the interval; if there is no break, the drink is served afterward. A 50% discount is available for holders of an Ooievaarspas; book via the venue's discussion bureau.
