Erdem Pancarcı: Mythos of Âşık (Ankara)

Erdem Pancarcı is a multi-instrumentalist and producer whose programme "Mythos of Âşık" draws on the Âşık tradition of Anatolia and Mesopotamia: the poetic song culture carried for centuries by travelling musicians, storytellers and spiritual seekers. He plays tembûr, divan and bağlama alongside duduk, kaval, percussion and bass, setting the old repertoire against jazz, improvisation and contemporary world music. The songs deal with love, longing, justice and spiritual devotion. Ankara date of the world tour, hosted at the Hacı Bektaş Veli Anadolu Kültür Vakfı headquarters.
