About this event

The documentary Hêza tells the story of the Yazidi woman Suad Murad Xelef, known as Hêza, who was taken along with 25 members of her family during the Islamic State genocide of 3 August 2014. She escaped, became a commander in the YJŞ, the women's units of Şengal, and took part in the liberation of Raqqa. Filmed in northern and eastern Syria, in Raqqa and in Şengal, over a year-long project of the Rojava Film Commune. Directed by Derya Deniz, 2022, 52 minutes, with German subtitles.
