On September 5, the 34th International Kurdish Cultural Festival will bring together thousands of Kurds and their friends from all over Europe in Dortmund. Held under the motto "Building a democratic society with a free representative," the event is among the largest Kurdish cultural gatherings in Europe. The festival features music performances, traditional dances, exhibitions, and culinary specialties from Kurdistan. Taking the main stage are acts such as Chopy, Mikail Aslan, Cemîl Qoçgirî, Koma Zerdeştê Kal, Sîpan Xelat, Awaza Botan, and various govend (folk dance) groups. Additionally, visitors can explore information booths and exhibitions of traditional crafts, while children can enjoy a dedicated program led by the Zarok Ma initiative and theater artist Amele. The festival starts at 10:00 AM and runs all day at the Remydamm / Victor-Toyka-Straße venue (parking lot E1/E2) in Dortmund.
