About this event

Kayhan Kalhor is a Kurdish kamancheh player from Iran and a five-time Grammy nominee, known both as a virtuoso and as an improviser and composer. He has worked with Shujaat Khan, Erdal Erzincan, Toumani Diabaté, Yo-Yo Ma and the New York Philharmonic. For this concert he is joined by Hadi Hosseini on vocals and Hamin Honari on tombak, playing a contemporary reading of centuries-old Persian and Kurdish traditions: composed pieces alongside long stretches of improvisation. This concert was originally set for 16 November 2026 and has been moved to 22 November 2027. It takes place in the Recital Hall (Kleine Zaal).
