Set in a time suspended somewhere between the 1980s and 1990s, a car moves silently through the Umbrian countryside toward an isolated villa overlooking Lake Trasimeno. Inside are a man and his driver, heading toward what initially appears to be an ordinary negotiation, yet slowly reveals something far more unsettling. From the very first moment, the villa imposes its heavy presence — empty corridors, silent walls, and faces concealing more than they reveal. With the appearance of the villa’s owner, known only as “the Count,” layers of fear and suspicion gradually emerge, transforming the villa itself into a hidden entity silently observing and controlling everyone within it. The film draws deeply from the tradition of classic Italian psychological mystery cinema, where tension emerges not through direct action but through image, silence, and slow-burning time. Through meticulous framing, shadow-filled lighting, and contemplative pacing, the film creates a suffocating cinematic world in which the smallest details become permanent signals of danger and uncertainty. Directed by Alvaro Raul Diamanti. Italy. 2025. 24:56. Part of the official selection of the 6th Kobani International Film Festival, 2025, in the short film section. It won Best Director. The 6th Kobani International Film Festival ran from 5 to 7 September 2025 and never published which film screened on which day or at what time, so this listing uses the festival's opening day and leaves the start time blank.
