About this event
Opening event of Positive Futures Festival 2026 featuring Meral Polat and Cleo Reed. Meral Polat performs with her band, combining raw blues and hypnotic sounds with 1970s Turkish psychedelic rock, Kurdish dengbêj storytelling, Mali blues and Nigerian Afrobeat. The performance focuses on resistance, freedom, solidarity and women’s rights, under the banner “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” (“Woman, Life, Freedom”). Cleo Reed brings a fusion of folk, blues, country and dystopian electronic rap, drawing on participatory art, music composition, instrument-building, installation and textile art.
