About this event

Avesta, a young Kurdish Yazidi woman who survived Islamic State captivity, is in Brussels looking for justice against the man who once enslaved her. As she works through her darkest memories and faces the weight of a child she did not choose to have, she fights to be heard, whatever it costs. A drama about trauma, resilience and the search for justice, directed by Binevsa Bêrîvan. Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, 2024, 84 minutes, with German subtitles. This is the opening night of the Kurdische Filmtage Bielefeld, and the director Bêrîvan Binevşa will be there in person.
